OpenChat adds Discord and Telegram bridging for cross-platform messaging

OpenChat users can now connect their Discord and Telegram accounts to relay messages between those platforms and OpenChat, according to a new announcement.

The feature allows users to link their accounts and have messages from their Discord or Telegram chats appear in OpenChat as though they were sent by the linked user.

To set up the connection, users need to install the relevant Discord or Telegram bot and use the /bridge command. They can then link their account through the new “Linked accounts” section of their OpenChat profile.

The integration is designed to make communication across the platforms easier by allowing messages to be relayed between connected chats, reducing the need to switch between separate applications.

The announcement does not provide further details about supported server or group configurations, privacy settings, or any limitations on message relaying. Users may wish to review the bot permissions and account-linking requirements before connecting their accounts.

The addition expands OpenChat’s messaging options by connecting it with two widely used communication platforms, giving users another way to manage conversations across services.
