Odin.fun reports 140 commits in week focused on safer deployments

Odin.fun has reported 140 commits during its week 42 development cycle, with work focused on improving staking canister deployment safety and preparing new trading and wallet features.

The team described the week as one of consolidation, with several developments completed or nearing readiness.

A key change concerns the staking canister, where production upgrades are now restricted to upgrade-only deployments. According to the update, this is designed to prevent an incorrect deployment from wiping existing canister state.

The team has also introduced module hash attestation for every release, allowing the deployed module to be checked against the version that was built. If a post-deployment check fails, the canister remains paused rather than starting in an unverified state.

Odin.fun also released OdinConnect v2.0.2 on 15 October, adding a staging environment for developers building integrations. The environment is available at staging.odin.fun.

Several other features are progressing through development and are expected to be ready soon. These include individual trade rooms over WebSocket connections, live token holder lists, the ability for users to display their own trades on charts, and an in-repository Bitcoin wallet client intended to replace a third-party dependency.

The team said further updates would follow next week, describing its approach as building in public through regular development updates.

The latest update outlines development progress and planned features, but does not provide a release date for the upcoming trading and wallet functions.
