Caffeine has added Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 5.5 to its available AI models, giving developers another option for making changes and improvements to applications within the platform.
The new model is positioned for tasks that can be clearly described, such as fixing bugs, adding a booking form or refining an existing webpage.
According to Anthropic, Claude Sonnet 5.5 is 30 per cent faster than Sonnet 5 and costs less than Opus 5.5. The company has positioned the model for development work where the required changes are already clearly defined.
Caffeine users can switch between models within the same conversation, allowing them to use different models at different stages of developing an application.
The platform suggests using Opus 5.5 when planning a new project or working through a broader development task, before handing follow-up implementation work to Sonnet 5.5.
This approach gives users the option to change models without leaving the existing conversation, keeping the development process within the same Caffeine workflow.
For developers, the distinction between planning and follow-up work could allow different models to be used according to the type of task, although the practical results will depend on the application and the changes being requested.
