OISY Pay lets customers pay in their chosen crypto asset at checkout

OISY Pay is offering customers a way to pay at participating stores using their preferred crypto asset, while keeping the purchase price fixed in the local currency.

The service, available through Open CryptoPay, allows customers to scan a code at the till and select which supported asset they want to use for the transaction.

For example, a café bill of 4.20 Swiss francs remains 4.20 CHF regardless of the asset selected. The customer confirms the payment after choosing how to cover the amount.

The approach separates the price displayed by the merchant from the asset the customer uses to pay. Rather than changing the bill according to the selected cryptocurrency, the checkout amount stays denominated in Swiss francs.

OISY Pay’s announcement describes the process at participating stores. It does not specify which crypto assets are supported, how conversion rates are calculated, whether transaction fees apply or how quickly payments settle.

Those details may matter to customers weighing up the convenience of paying with digital assets against the costs and practicalities of using them for everyday purchases.
